Giraffes only drink water every few days because they get most of their water from leaves. Giraffes have tan skin with spots, every giraffes spots have a different pattern.
Giraffes use their height as an advantage. They can see predators from far away; their amazing vision also helps with this. They can run up to 35 miles per hour. Sometimes giraffes look like very tall horses with spots. Giraffes have very few predators, but the ones they do have can be pretty scary. Their predators are lions and hyenas. Giraffes are not endangered which is a very good thing because they are so beautiful and are important parts of certain food webs. Giraffes either live in the wild or in a zoo, giraffes are not domestic animals. Giraffes are mammals which means they give birth to live babies. A giraffes life cycle is, they are born a baby. Then they grow into a child. Then they grow into a teen or young adult. Then they grow into an adult, and then they grow old, and eventually they die. Giraffes usually live in small groups but sometimes male giraffes prefer to live alone. There are about 100,000 giraffes living on Earth. |
